November 2nd: Korean Beef Bulgogi

Verdict:
Toss: Korean Beef Bulgogi

Bulgogi: "a Korean dish that usually consists of marinated barbecued beef, although chicken or pork may also be used ... Bulgogi literally means "fire meat" in Korean, which refers to the cooking technique—over an open flame..." Thank you, Wikipedia.

And so, I was expecting something like I ate a Korean restaurant in Toronto many years ago, with bowls upon bowls of raw meat coming to the table, which we then cooked over an open flame, using the same tongs on the raw meat as on the cooked (that part freaked me out).

This recipe was nothing like that. From November 2010's Chatelaine: Korean Beef Bulgogi. Fried up with Savoy cabbage and green onions, and served with jasmine rice, this was a good meal, but not good enough to keep. Ah well. Memories of Toronto will have to do.
